King Floor Service continues to provide quality refinishing services. Our team of experienced professionals will:

Prepare the floor: We remove exposed nails, staples and tacks, then replace discolored or damaged boards as needed. We also seal off areas to be sanded to help reduce the spread of dust throughout your home.

Sand the floor: We sand to remove layers of old stain and wax, and to level out irregular areas in the floor. At this stage, we also fill cracks in existing boards.

Apply new stain: We apply the stain color of your choice. Stain may be omitted if you prefer a clear natural finish.

Finish the floor: We apply at least two coats of oil polyurethane. We recommend three coats in areas such as hallways, steps and kitchens. Water-based finish is now also available by request.

Drying time is approximately 12-24 hours, depending on finish used and drying conditions. We suggest you stay off floors for 24 hours and limit activity for the next 48 hours. We recommend you wait until the finish is cured—21 days—before placing area rugs. Use felt floor pads under furniture legs, and place wipe-off mats at entrance doors.
